Teaching traditions that cultivate connection
Every tradition survives because it is passed from hand to hand, ear to ear, heart to heart. Teaching is how I honour the lineage of music — not as a set of rules, but as a living practice that grows with each new player.
Classes
I offer three ways to begin your journey:
One-2-One Lessons
Whether on harp, piano, or concertina, one-to-one lessons give space for focused growth. Each student is encouraged to develop both skill and presence: to play notes with confidence, to listen deeply, and to express their own voice through music.
Pre-Instrument music classes
These playful, informal sessions invite younger children to step into music through rhythm, games, and song. Before learning an instrument, they discover the joy of sound, the beat of their own body, and the fun of making music together.
Concertina Group Class
Music is community. This class is designed especially for adults — including those later in life who finally have the time to explore music. The concertina’s voice carries heritage and humour; in a group setting it becomes a bridge between generations, creating both music and friendship.
Classes beginning in Cumbria, Autumn/winter 2025
Lessons and classes are now in development.
Pilots are beginning soon, and spaces will be limited. If one of these classes speaks to you — or to your child — I’d love to hear from you. Join the waiting list below and I’ll be in touch as soon as the first sessions are ready.
Music is waiting.
The first step is yours...
